Canyon Spectral:ON e-mountain bike launches with 900 Wh battery
Canyon has revealed the new Spectral:ON series of e-mountain bikes (E-MTB). Each vehicle can be equipped with a large 900 Wh battery that can provide up to 60 miles (~97 km) of assisted range, and the e-bikes have a lightweight yet sturdy carbon frame.
A Shimano EP8 motor provides up to 85 Nm of torque to help you reach up to 6,994 ft (~2,132 m) of elevation gain. A built-in display shows your speed and the battery charge level. The entry-level Spectral:ON CF 7 model weighs 50.79 lbs (~23.04 kg) with a Shimano XT drivetrain, RockShox suspension and RaceFace wheelsets.
Next is the Spectral:ON CF 8, weighing 53.57 lbs (~24.30 kg) with the same drivetrain, Fox suspension and SunRingle wheels. The top-end Spectral:ON CFR is the lightest bike, weighing 50.16 lbs (~22.75 kg), with an XTR drivetrain and Reynolds carbon wheels. Plus, the 900 Wh battery is fitted as standard.
The Canyon Spectral:ON E-MTBs are already available in European countries, including the UK and the Netherlands. The first deliveries are expected to start at the end of this month, and the vehicles will also shortly be available in Australia and North America. As for pricing, the CF 7 costs US$5,999, the CF 8 US$6,649 and the CFR model US$10,150.
