The Cable Matters Thunderbolt 5 Docking Station has been announced in the US. The 11-in-1 accessory is designed for a range of users, including gamers, content creators and other professionals.
As its name suggests, the new Cable Matters docking station offers upstream Thunderbolt 5 for 140W pass-through charging and 120GBps bandwidth, three times the bandwidth of Thunderbolt 4. Alongside Thunderbolt 5, it is compatible with Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4, and USB4 host devices. The dock has three Thunderbolt 5 downstream ports, supporting 15W charging and an 80 Gbps bandwidth. These can be used to connect three monitors with an 8K@60Hz or 4K@144Hz resolution when used with a Windows Thunderbolt 5 laptop. Thunderbolt 4 Windows devices support single 8K@60Hz or dual 4K@120Hz displays, and those with a MacBook get support for dual 6K@60Hz, and single 8K@60Hz with an M4 silicon chip.
Plus, Thunderbolt Share allows you to connect two laptops simultaneously. Also included are USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, two with a 10Gbps bandwidth and a third with 5 Gbps bandwidth that can be used for charging. There is a 2.5GB Ethernet port, SD and microSD card slots, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a Kensington lock slot. The dock comes with a Thunderbolt 5 cable, a power cord and a stand. You can now buy the Cable Matters Thunderbolt 5 Docking Station for $349.99 at Amazon.
