The Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI) has arrived in the US. The model was leaked by reliable source u/joshuadwx via Reddit in October, who revealed many details about the accessory and described it as “lackluster”.
The five ports on this USB-C Hub include HDMI, two USB-A 2.0, USB-A 3.0 and PD-IN. The accessory supports a 4K@30Hz resolution display via HDMI. The USB-A 2.0 ports offer a 480 Mbps data transfer rate, which could be used for peripherals like a mouse or keyboard, while the USB-A 3.0 has a 5 Gbps rate for an SSD or hard drive. Anker notes that the 100W USB-C PD input only supports charging, not data transfer or video output. Plus, the built-in 9.8 inch (~25.0 cm) USB-C cable is used to connect to your laptop, with a 90W pass-through charging output.
The accessory is relatively compact, measuring 4.72 x 1.18 x 0.46 inches (~120 x 30 x 11.6 mm), and comes with an 18-month warranty. You can now buy the Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI) at Amazon US for $17.99. It is unclear whether or when the accessory could launch in other markets like Europe.
