Have you ever wanted a secondary display but want a smaller or more portable solution than an external monitor? Well, C-Force thinks that there is a market for one. The Shenzhen based company has developed two new portable displays that it imaginatively calls the CF015C and the CF015E. They both have 15.6-inch panels and look largely the same, but that is where the similarities end. We have outlined their specs below:
CF015C | CF015E | |
---|---|---|
Resolution | 3,840 x 2,160 | 1,920 x 1,080 |
Thickness | 6 mm | 7.5 mm, 14.5 mm at its thickest |
Case | Aluminium | Polycarbonate & ABS plastic |
Brightness | 300 cd/m² | 250 cd/m² |
Panel type | IPS | IPS |
Response time | 30 ms | 30 ms |
Ports | USB Type-C | 2 x USB Type-C, 2 x USB 2.0 Type-A |
The CF015C works natively with MacBooks and Windows laptops without the need for an external power supply. The portable display comes with a magnetic stand cover that has notches and allows you to place the CF015C at two angles. The device will come with an adjustable stand too because the campaign has hit its second stretch goal.
By contrast, the CF015E is slightly thicker because it contains the hardware required to work natively with the Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately, the CF015C does not work with the Switch out of the box and requires a USB Type-C hub that supports the games console.
The CF015C is currently available on Kickstarter for US$199, while the CF015E is US$70 cheaper at US$129. The portable displays reached their campaign goal in one hour after launching and currently have raised US$153,990 in funding. The campaign has just over 24 hours to run before it finishes and C-Force promises to ship the devices in June.
