Budget Osmo Pocket 4 rival launch date revealed: 50MP, 1/1.55-inch sensor, unique screen design expected

If you like the new DJI Osmo Pocket 4 but you think the €499 starting price is too high, you’d be happy to find out FeiyuTech has officially confirmed the launch of the highly anticipated DJI Osmo Pocket 4 rival, the Feiyu Pocket 4.
The innovative gimbal camera (that we previously reported on) is set to make its debut during the China P&E fair taking place from May 15 to 18 at the Beijing Exhibition Centre, as the strategically named Feiyu Pocket 4 aims to shake up the gimbal camera market leader DJI with a radical new design compared to its predecessor, the Feiyu Pocket 3.
Feiyu Pocket 4: The budget alternative to the Osmo Pocket 4 will be revealed May 15-18; has a sliding screen, 1/1.55-inch sensor, 64GB of built-in storage
- The Pocket 4’s standout feature should be a 2.64-inch touchscreen that utilizes a unique "slide-to-power" mechanism - sliding the screen down activates the camera, while sliding it up protects the gimbal when it’s powered off.
- The budget Pocket 4 is expected to bring a 1/1.55-inch CMOS sensor capable of 50MP stills and 4K/60fps video, AI-powered face tracking, built-in 64GB storage and industry-leading 450-degree range of motion (whatever that means).
Visitors at the Beijing Exhibition Centre will likely get the first look at final design and regional availability of the Pocket 4. The Feiyu Pocket 3 was and still is available to buy on Amazon in the US and Europe, which means a global Feiyu Pocket 4 release is likely.
Considering the starting price of the Feiyu Pocket 3 Remote Handle Kit has been hovering around the €300/$300 mark since launch, the new version isn’t expected to cost much more - especially given that it has to undercut the likes of the Osmo Pocket 4 and Insta360 Luna Pro.
