In Shrimp Game: Krill Confirmed, players pilot armed shrimp submarines through gloomy underwater dungeons full of monsters, loot and boss fights. The looter shooter launched with 95% positive reviews and is completely free to play.

Shrimp Game: Krill Confirmed is a looter shooter in the vein of Borderlands. Instead of playing as an armed treasure hunter, however, players control a shrimp-shaped combat submarine. They fight through dark deep-sea dungeons filled with aggressive sea creatures, traps and nasty bosses. Along the way, they loot everything the ocean has to offer to upgrade their SHRIMP – short for “Submersible Hydrodynamic Research Integrated Marine Platform.” There are eleven different SHRIMP platforms with their own strengths and more than 20 weapons, including cannons, shotguns and machine guns. Players can dive into the deep sea either solo or in co-op with up to two others.

The shrimp shooter was released on Steam on May 6, 2026. At the time of research, it had only 20 reviews, but 95% of them were positive. Players describe the gameplay as highly entertaining and motivating, with good movement mechanics and a complex combat system. The PS1-style visuals have also been largely well received. However, some players note that the game still feels unpolished in places and that its content scope is limited. The difficulty is also said to be somewhat too easy at first and artificially hard in later boss fights.

Despite these minor criticisms, Shrimp Game should be well worth a look for fans of looter shooters, especially since it is free-to-play. One downside: Steam Deck compatibility is still listed as “Unknown,” and Steam does not provide specific system requirements. Visually, however, the game looks as though it could run on modern handhelds.
