Deal | 80% discount: “The best hack-and-slay since Diablo 2” has rarely been this cheap on Steam

In Titan Quest, players fight their way through a world inspired by ancient myths, with the journey taking them through Greece, Egypt, Asia and Olympus. The Anniversary Edition combines the base game with the Immortal Throne expansion and adds several technical improvements: higher resolutions, a scalable UI, improved zoom and Steam Workshop support help modernize the almost 20-year-old title.
At its core, Titan Quest offers classic hack-and-slay gameplay in the style of Diablo: players battle hordes of enemies, upgrade their equipment and take on powerful bosses. The player character can be developed across several difficulty levels. One of the game’s biggest unique features is its flexible mastery system: choosing two masteries creates custom class variants. This allows for numerous playstyles that depend heavily on equipment, abilities and resistances. The game also offers more than 1,000 unique and legendary items, online co-op and a level editor.

Titan Quest Anniversary Edition has collected more than 37,000 player reviews on Steam, 90% of which are positive. One user even described it as “the best hack-and-slay since Diablo 2.” Players particularly praise the fun combat, well-thought-out class system and extensive content. The atmospheric setting and satisfying loot loop are also frequently highlighted. Criticism is mainly aimed at technical weaknesses, the thin storyline and the old-fashioned presentation – although the latter is hardly surprising given the game’s age.
80% off on Steam
Titan Quest Anniversary Edition was developed by Iron Lore Entertainment in collaboration with publisher THQ Nordic and released in August 2016. The action RPG normally costs around $20 on Steam, but an 80% discount reduces the price to $3.99 until May 11. According to SteamDB, the game was already 90% off in July 2024, but this was mostly followed by 75% discounts. The current deal is therefore not an all-time low, but the title has not been this cheap for a long time. Compatibility with Steam Deck is classified as “Unsupported.”
