BoostR is a new brand that’s going against the likes of OneXPlayer by launching its first product, an external graphics card solution. Simply called BoostR eGPU dock, it comes with the AMD Radeon RX 7600M XT, which is the same as the OneXGPU and GPD G1. What’s more is that it even comes with an OCuLink port, letting you get the most out of the card.
Of course, you don’t need to strictly rely on the OCuLink port when pairing it up with a system. The eGPU solution also features a USB4 port, which doesn’t offer the same bandwidth as OCuLink, but it broadens the compatibility. So, you can make it work with most of the recently released mini PCs.
The company has paired the Radeon RX 7600M XT with a patented vapor chamber. This allowed BoostR to make the eGPU dock offer default 100W TGP. There’s also a dedicated button to jump to 120W, which is the maximum setting for the AMD graphics card.
Like some of the competitors, the BoostR eGPU dock brings an M.2 SSD slot, enabling you to use it to expand the storage of your computer. As for the other ports, the external graphics card dock has an SD card reader, one USB 3.2 Gen 2, two DisplayPort 2.0, two HDMI 2.1, and one RJ45.
As for the price, it’s lower than what GPD G1 and OneXGPU (curr. $749.99 on Amazon) go for. BoostR is offering an early bird discount, which lets you grab the eGPU dock for just $499. You can learn more about the external graphics card solution from the review video attached below.
