Shortly after Battlefield 6’s release, new datamining leaks have sparked excitement within the community. Insider Gaming’s Mike Straw and Tom Henderson uncovered several unreleased game modes in the shooter’s files, along with strong indications pointing to the return of naval combat.

After a long wait, Battlefield 6 finally launched on October 10, and according to SteamDB, nearly 750,000 players have already clashed simultaneously across New York, Cairo and Gibraltar. At release, the multiplayer featured eight modes, including classics like Conquest, Rush and Breakthrough – and many critics view it as a strong return to form for the series. New reports now suggest that the developers plan to expand the game significantly in the coming months.

According to a report by Mike Straw and Tom Henderson, Insider Gaming has uncovered several unreleased game modes hidden in Battlefield 6’s source code: Raid, Payload, Sabotage, Squad Shootout, Strikepoint and TankHunt. Strikepoint and Sabotage are already listed on the official Season 1 roadmap, lending credibility to the existence of the remaining modes – though none of them have been officially confirmed yet.

Strikepoint launches on October 18 alongside the Rogue Ops season update, introducing turn-based 4v4 matches where each player has only one life. Sabotage will follow on November 18 with the California Resistance update, featuring an attack-and-defense setup in which two teams of eight take turns planting explosives or defending objectives.

Return of naval warfare looks increasingly likely

At the same time, Tom Henderson released a separate report hinting at the possible return of naval warfare. Alongside the new game modes, two watercraft were discovered in the source code: a jet ski and an RHIB (rigid-hulled inflatable boat). In the latest community update, EA had already drawn attention by noting that player requests for naval combat “haven’t gone unnoticed.” This new leak now makes such a comeback seem increasingly likely.

In the end, Insider Gaming’s findings provide credible clues about upcoming content for Battlefield 6. While official confirmation is still pending, the next seasons could significantly expand the multiplayer experience.
