Baseus launches new slim magnetic power bank with up to 22.5W fast charging

Baseus has introduced a new magnetic power bank in China, the PicoGo Air. One of its key selling points is the slim design. It is 6.9mm thin, and this makes it slightly thicker than the recently released Xiaomi UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank 5000, which is 6mm thin.

This new PicoGo Air is slightly heavier than the competing Xiaomi power bank as well. However, the core specs remain the same. For example, Baseus' new portable charger has a rated capacity of 5,000mAh, and just like Xiaomi's offering, it doesn't support the new Qi 2.2 standard.

Instead, the magnetic wireless charging speed maxes out at 15W. In the wired mode, the slim power bank from Baseus maxes out at 22.5W, which, again, is the same as what Xiaomi's offering can deliver.

One interesting aspect of the Baseus PicoGo, however, is the PowerSense NFC feature. It allows users to check the detailed battery status of the power bank on the companion smartphone app. The company also highlights the "Glacier Heat Dissipation Structure."

That structure, paired with the advanced VC heat sink and aluminum alloy build, is said to keep the temperature in control during charging. The PicoGo has an adaptive temperature control feature as well, which promises stable and safe charging.

It's also worth noting that the company is pairing the power bank with a short cable. Baseus notes that the bundled wire can offer up to 60W fast charging (65W Ugreen Nexode Pro slim charger curr. $44.99 on Amazon). Getting back to the PicoGo Air, Apple-inspired R-angle curved design, three sleek metallic finishes, and strong built-in magnets are the other highlights of the portable charger.

The Baseus PicoGo Air power bank launched in China with a price tag of CNY 299, around $43.44. Details on the international launch and availability are not announced yet, but the company is known to bring most of its PicoGo-branded products to the global market.
