USB cable as EDC multitool: Velochi Pro offers power bank, flashlight and lighter

Velochi Pro is marketed as an everyday carry (EDC) gadget for technology enthusiasts. While many EDC tools combine tools such as knives, screwdrivers or package openers, the heart of Velochi Pro is a USB-C to USB-C cable that achieves data rates of up to 40 Gbit/s and can charge devices with up to 240 watts. Velochi Pro thus competes with high-quality USB-4 cables ($19.99 on Amazon).
An integrated power bank can be seen on one half of the 21.5 centimeter long cable. Although this only has a capacity of 1,200 mAh, this is at least enough to charge a smartphone sufficiently to make an emergency call. While Velochi Pro is marketed as a 4-in-1 multitool, each of the two variants of the tool only offers three functions. In addition to the USB-C cable and the power bank, there is either an LED flashlight with a brightness of 40 lumens or a lighter.
The latter comes without a flame. Instead, Velochi Pro uses a wire that is heated electrically when the user blows on it - wind should not activate the gadget. This wire gets hot enough to light a cigarette or even a campfire. Velochi Pro has a housing made of a zinc alloy and weighs 78 grams. The gadget is not waterproof.
Prices and availability
Velochi Pro is currently being funded on Kickstarter is currently being financed. In the first 48 hours, the gadget will be available for $35, after which the Kickstarter price will rise to $49, and the retail list price will increase to $72. The manufacturer will deliver worldwide from June 2026, but the prices do not include customs duties and shipping costs.
Velochi already funded a cheaper version of the gadget on Kickstarter last year, and according to the Kickstarter comments, the first customers have already received their product. Nevertheless, when backing a Kickstarter campaign, there is always the risk that a product will not be delivered at all, will be delivered late or will have quality defects.
