Rewindpix compact camera offers optical viewfinder, flash and 35 mm lens for $119

After the Kodak Charmera was a resounding commercial success, Rewindpix is trying to build on this success. With a price of $119, the camera is a little more expensive, but should also achieve better image quality, as Rewindpix uses a 13 megapixel sensor in 1/3.06 inch format, which is combined with a 35 mm f/2.2 lens.
Photos are not taken via a display, but through a large optical viewfinder. The exposure is set automatically; photographers only have the option of switching on the flash if required. The camera is designed to capture the feeling of an analog disposable camera. To achieve this, the manufacturer has come up with two special features in particular. Firstly, the camera has to be "wound up" after each photo using the wheel on the back.
Secondly, virtual film rolls can be inserted via the associated smartphone app, which unlock a filter and a limited number of photos. The photos can only be viewed once the entire film roll has been transferred to the smartphone, for which the camera supports Wi-Fi. This "film mode" can also be deactivated if desired. A 1-inch display on the back of the 185 gram camera shows details about battery and the available memory. A 4 GB microSD card is included in the scope of delivery.
Prices and availability
The Rewindpix compact camera is currently being funded on Kickstarter. The camera costs $119 US plus shipping in the "Super Early Bird" offer. Delivery is expected to begin in June 2026. As usual, when backing Kickstarter campaigns, there is a risk that products will be delivered late or in inferior quality.
