Reviews for the Asus Vivobook Pro 16X-M7600QE
A 400 cd/m² bright OLED display as well as strong hardware from Nvidia and AMD make the 16-inch Vivobook an attractive laptop together with the valuable aluminum casing. However, the tested pre-production device could only almost show a production-ready performance in the test.

Priced at Rs 1,29,990 (review unit), the Asus Vivobook Pro 16X OLED is a satisfying pro-grade laptop for creators. It has a dazzling display of usable 16:10 aspect ratio, true-tone speakers, high-capacity battery, multiple connectivity options, and most of the commonly used interface ports. For its maiden creator-centric laptop, Asus has delivered a winner!

In summary, Asus has done a good job with the Asus Vivobook Pro 16X OLED, and that is exactly what you would expect from a brand like Asus. Certainly, with a price tag of Rs 1,29,990 (USD 2754.99), the notebook is a premium device that is not for everyone. Instead, Asus has targeted the notebook at creatives and designers for whom the display plays a crucial role, and the brand has managed to get the notebook’s display perfect. If you are one of those people, you should consider the Asus Vivobook Pro 16X OLED, as it will not disappoint you in this regard. Besides the excellent display, you get good performance, a pleasant keyboard and trackpad, great build quality, the Asus dial-pad, and more. Yes, it’s not perfect, and Asus could have done a few things better, such as a higher refresh rate and ports functionality. But maybe that’s something we will see in the next iteration of the laptop. If you are looking for something smaller, check out the Asus Vivobook Pro 14X OLED, which offers similar specs.

The Asus Vivobook Pro 16X OLED M7600Q is an interesting median point between the pricey but powerful ProArt StudioBook 16 OLED and the modest Vivobook Pro 15 OLED with a luscious 4K OLED display, a solid CPU and a decent GPU but the soldered in RAM and quaint clustered ports on its right side may give more serious content creators pause. If you’re looking for a 4K OLED content creator laptop with credible battery life and a fairly decent set of hardware for casual gaming and modest content creation, the Vivobook Pro 16X OLED M7600Q makes for a worthy choice. The ASUS Vivobook Pro 16X OLED M7600Q is a sound choice for casual content creators and gamers with its superb 4K OLED display and decent specifications, though more serious content creators should explore the higher end options in their Asus ProArt line-up.

The ProArt Studiobook 16 OLED is a serious laptop for serious content creators, and I would say that the ASUS Vivobook Pro 16X OLED (M7600) is an equally interesting laptop for creators whose pockets aren’t as deep. For RM6499, you get the ASUS DialPad, a rather unique feature allowing for more finetuned control of the dials and sliders in the Adobe suite. The sweet 16:10 4K OLED display is also great, with close to 100% DCI-P3 gamut coverage right out of the box. One of the things that I foresee getting in the way of more serious content creators is the fact that there you can’t upgrade your memory. As you expand your workflow to incorporate more apps, you will quickly find the soldered 16GB RAM in the ASUS Vivobook Pro 16X OLED to be insufficient. The lackluster performance of the GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU might diminish its appeal to students too, who might be interested to use this as an all-purpose laptop for some gaming on the side. The fact that you only have a microSD card slot and USB 3.0 ports is also quite irksome when it comes to I/O.

The Asus Vivobook Pro 16X might benefit from more attention to the hardware design, but it's solidly built and there's a lot to like under the surface. Battery life is great, the OLED screen is superb, and the keyboard is comfortable to use. The latter's colour scheme may be unusual, but that doesn't detract from its usability. The DialPad has potential, although some may find it a bit fiddly to get on with, and it's a shame the speakers are somewhat underpowered. The price is high, but content creators may find it well worth the outlay.
