Asus unveiled the ROG Strix G16 (2023) earlier this year at CES. It got a quite a few QoL upgrades, such as Intel's Raptor Lake-HX processors and Nvidia's GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards. An entry-level variant of the laptop has now dropped to its lowest price ever on Amazon, thanks to a Black Friday deal.
The Asus ROG Strix G16 (2023) with an Intel Core i7-13650HX and Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 is now available for US$1,099 on Amazon. The latter has a max TGP of 140 watts and comes with a dedicated MUX switch, allowing gamers to switch between the dGPU and iGPU. Other specs include a 16:10 165 Hz FHD panel, Wi-Fi 6, 16 GB RAM liquid metal cooling for the CPU and GPU, and a 90 Wh battery. Unfortunately, the storage is a bit lacking at 512 GB, but Asus has made it easy for users to upgrade via an additional NVMe slot.
While we couldn't test the above Asus ROG Strix G16 variant, our in-depth review of the Dell G15 with the same configuration should give you a rough idea about how it will perform with modern-day games. It can play even demanding AAA games at 1080p 60 FPS thanks to DLSS 3.0, Frame Generation and other improvements brought forth by Ada Lovelace.
