The Asus ROG Ally is significantly more compact than the Steam Deck, but provides more performance, a similarly sized battery and two fans instead of just one. Those who want to see the inner workings of the handheld can now do so with a transparent back from Jsaux.
Once the back is installed, the two fans, battery and red mainboard are clearly visible. Jsaux includes a number of stickers that make it possible to further personalize the look. In the center of the case sits a small RGB LED panel, the style of which can be customized - in addition to the charging bar, other choices include a Nasa logo, PlayStation button icons, and "Caution" lettering with a nuclear symbol. According to Jsaux, this lighting makes use of a separate 170 mAh battery that allows three hours of runtime, but it also has to be charged separately via USB-C.
At the same time, Jsaux is introducing the ModCase, a particularly robust protective case for the ROG Ally gaming handheld that comes with a front cover for safely transporting the device. The case has a fold-out stand and an adapter that allows accessories such as an SSD or power bank to be attached to the back of the handheld via Velcro. Multiple microSD slots allow for the convenient carrying of additional storage.
