The name of the latest Assassin's Creed spin-off was recently leaked on X (formerly Twitter), allowing new conclusions to be drawn about the game. The leaker also commented on planned DLCs.

Codename Red, planned as the 14th main game in the Assassin's Creed series, will be set in feudal Japan – a setting fans have long anticipated. While details about Assassin’s Creed Red remain limited, Ubisoft has confirmed the game's setting. However, user UBI_FraxV2 on platform X appears to have new information.

According to a post on X by UBI_FraxV2, Codename Red is actually titled "Assassin's Creed Shadows". Unlike the current installment, "Assassin's Creed Mirage" (available on Amazon), which is not expected to receive any expansions, at least two DLCs are planned for "Shadows" according to the leaker. The leaker's X account was blocked shortly after the post, which could lend credibility to the information.

UBI_FraxV2 is not a known leaker. A source does not appear to have been provided. So until Ubisoft confirms the title itself, the information remains questionable. On the other hand, it is quite common for the titles of Assassin's Creed games to allow conclusions to be drawn about the game's content - such as Odyssey, Valhalla or Black Flag.

With Assassin's Creed Mirage, Ubisoft returned to the roots of the game series and placed a stronger focus on stealth gameplay. The title "Shadows" suggests that this game in feudal Japan could highlight the stealth gameplay even more.
