Once in a while word gets out that Apple CEO Tim Cook is personally answering emails of Apple fans. A few days ago he did so again after receiving an email from a concerned Mac user who asked if Apple is pulling away from the Mac line. "I love the Mac", Tim answered. He added, that Apple is very committed to it" and asked the user to wait a littler longer: "Stay tuned!"
It is hardly news that Apple will hold yet another big event this year, following the event on September 7th that was mainly reserved for Apple's iPhone and Apple Watch-hardware this year. According to rumors, Apple will introduce a completely redesigned MacBook Pro lineup this fall, probably in October or November. Analysts like KGI's Ming-Chi Kuo already told us, that the new Macs will not only feature upgraded CPU and AMD Polaris graphics-chips, he also mentioned a new OLED-display instead of the functions keys that could act as said keys but also change function depending on context.
What we do know little about are possible upgrades to other Macs. The Mac mini, the MacBook Air or the desktop workstation Mac Pro have hardly received any major upgrades in months or even years. The MacRumors Buyers guide already recommends against buying any Mac except for the small MacBook due to the largely ancient hardware of today's Macs lineup. Rumors abound, that Apple might drop a few of the Macs like the MacBook Air or the Mac Pro but at the moment it is too early to tell. We will have to wait for the next Apple event for any official news about the Mac lineup. Stay tuned!
