The Apple event on the 27th of October will most likely focus on laptops, Ming-Chi Kuo says.
KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo unveiled his expectations for next week's Apple "Hello Again" event, which will take place on October 27th. He said, that Apple will focus on a redesigned MacBook Pro series and a 13 inch MacBook (Air). New iMacs and a MacBooknew external display will not be available until next year.

KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi-Kuo released a new research report yesterday, detailing expectations about the Apple event next week on October 27th. In doing so, he also mentioned a few tidbits of new information.

MacBook Pro

The events main highlight will be a completely redesigned MacBook Pro. The new laptop will come in a 13 inch and 15 inch version like previous models but will feature an OLED touch bar, Touch ID support and USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 3 support. The new MacBook Pro will also come with the new keyboard type introduced on the 2015 MacBook. Instead of using Kaby Lake processors, the new models will still be based on Intel Skylake processors.

New MagSafe-adapter?

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, display resolution will stay the same but the quality and energy efficiency will be better thanks to a new panel. Apple will offer a 2 TB SSD-option for its new MacBook Pro series and either Apple or third parties will offer a new MagSafe and USB Type C adapter for the new Pro-series. The new OLED touch panel will be driven by an Apple Watch like processor, according to KGI.

New iMacs in 2017

Apart from the MacBook Pro 2016 models, Apple is said to introduce a new 13 inch MacBook. Even if the report does not say so directly, we expect this to be a new MacBook Air model with USB-C ports. Apple might introduce new 21.5 and 27 inch iMacs during the event, as well as a new 27 inch Cinema display with 5K resolution but both the display and the new iMacs will not be available until the first half of 2017, according to Ming-Chi Kuo.
