Xiaomi Mi Note 2: Curved display officially confirmed, new renders available
While Samsung is busy dealing with the Galaxy Note 7 disaster, competition is heating up. Xiaomi recently confirmed, that the Mi Note 2 will feature a dual curved screen similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 or the Galaxy S7 edge. With a new "Curved to impress" teaser on Twitter and Facebook, the young Chinese company is trying to position itself as an alternative to the Galaxy Note 7, even though their Mi Note 2 probably will not support a stylus. However, as a premium device with curved 5.7 inch QHD display and Snapdragon 821 processor, the Mi Note 2 might be an option for disappointed Samsung Note 7 customers looking for an alternative.
A recent leak indicated, that the Mi Note 2 might be available in global markets, Xiaomi also used their international social media sites to tease the live stream of their upcoming event on October 25th. New renders that surfaced recently on Chinese Weibo reaffirm the Samsung "edge" look and according to insider information, Xiaomi might be the first to use newly developed curved panels by Samsung competitor LG on the Mi Note 2. Pricing information for the Mi Note 2 remains sketchy. We have heard numbers from $415 up to $845, however a recent rumor indicated that the base model with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage might be sold for approximately $590. Be sure to check back in on October 25th for official details and information on the Mi Note 2.
