LG to stop modular expansion options with the LG G6 next year

There won't be any LG Friends for the LG G6 a report from South Korea suggests.
There won't be any LG Friends for the LG G6 a report from South Korea suggests.
A report straight out of South Korea suggests that LG has decided to not make the LG G6 modular anymore. Instead, the company will apparently focus their efforts on stability and customer demand.

South Korean ET News reported, that according to numerous statements from within the South Korean company, LG has decided to not make the LG G6 modular anymore. The successor to this year's G5 will therefore not be compatible with the LG Friends accessories, that were released this year to enhance the feature set of the G5 by giving the smartphone additional exchangeable options. LG already released the V20 as a non modular device in September, apparently, the fact that the G5 did not fare well with customers led to managers responsible for the LG G5 development to be exchanged.

Instead of supporting modular addons like the LG Friends, LG is said to focus their efforts on stability and actual customer demands for the development of the G6, ET News reports. According to a source inside the company, the LG G6 will have features, "that no other LG phone had before". LG has neither confirmed nor denied this report. We expect the LG G6 to be unveiled in the first quarter of next year.
