LG announced a 15W Quick Wireless Charging Pad that charges 50 percent into a flat battery in just 30 minutes, or a full charge in 90 minutes. LG claims that the new 15W wireless charger can equal wired quick charging speeds.

LG Innotek today announced its first 15W (Watt) wireless charging pad. LG says its newest product is nowhere near as fast as plugging your device into a traditional charger. The new charger is claimed to be three times faster than existing 5W wireless charging modules and is said to offer up to 50 percent of charge within 30 minutes of charging.

The LG charging pad looks a bit like Samsung's EP-PN920TBEGUS or EP-NG930TBUGUS respectively. According to LG Innotek the company is targeting a mid-October launch in the U.S, Europe, and Australia. The price isn't confirmed yet though. With its Quick Wireless Charging LG is presenting another 15 watt power upgrade to the Qi platform. The Samsung EP-NG930 (9V, 1.67A) for example delivers 15W as well.

Sung Huh, a head of electronic components business division, said:

"We proved that we had the world best wireless charging technology. As a wireless charging module is directly related to the convenience and safety of the users, we will meet the expectations of our customers with advanced performance and perfect product quality."
