Samsung just started mass-producing the Exynos 7 Dual 7270, the first mobile processor designed for wearable devices that is built on the 14-nanometer FinFET process technology. But Samsung has been using the 14nm technology since 2015.

Samsung has begun mass production of the Exynos 7 Dual 7270 which is Samsung's first mobile processor designed for wearable devices that is built on the 14-nanometer FinFET process technology. The Exynos 7 Dual 7270 system-in-package-embedded package-on-package technology enables Samsung to push the SOC into a small size ideal for wearables.

The application processor with a dual-core processor, DRAM and NAND flash memory chips as well as the power management IC are all together in the same package. The Exynos 7270 chip comes equipped with NFC and other sensors. It also features full connectivity and LTE modem integration. Samsung has been using the 14nm technology since 2015 inside smartphones, see chart below.

Samsung:

"From the powerful Exynos APs for premium mobile devices to a more compact version designed specifically for wearables, Samsung features a strong lineup that brings the benefits of cutting-edge technology to the devices people use every day."
