Apple’s 2019 iPhones will officially be unveiled on September 10 at the Steve Jobs Theater. Located on the company’s spaceship-like Apple Park campus, the launch event is also expected to bring with it the next generation Apple Watch and possibly even some new iPads. Also on the cards is the launch of the rumored high-end 16-inch MacBook Pro.
The new, and heavily leaked, iPhone 11 family is expected to include at least one new “Pro” model and number at least three in total. These will include two high-end models to follow the iPhone Xs and Xs Max with Super Retina OLED displays sourced from Samsung and a sequel to the most popular current model iPhone, the iPhone Xr. The highlight this year will be a new triple-rear camera array on the OLED models and a new dual-camera array on the next generation Xr equivalent. Expect blistering performance from the new A13 SoC
Also expected is a new entry—level iPad with a 10.2-inch display which should see the bezels get thinned down a little. Don’t be surprised to see Apple drop the headphone jack on this model as it did with last year’s iPad Pro line. It is possible the company might also update the iPad Pro line with faster processors (think A13X) and possibly dual-rear cameras. An Apple Watch Series 5 is also a distinct possibility as is the unveiling of a long-rumored 16-inch MacBook Pro with new scissor switch mechanism for the keyboard.

I have been writing about consumer technology over the past ten years, previously with the former MacNN and Electronista, and now Notebookcheck since 2017. My first computer was an Apple ][c and this sparked a passion for Apple, but also technology in general. In the past decade, I’ve become increasingly platform agnostic and love to get my hands on and explore as much technology as I can get my hand on. Whether it is Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, Linux, Nintendo, Xbox, or PlayStation, each has plenty to offer and has given me great joy exploring them all. I was drawn to writing about tech because I love learning about the latest devices and also sharing whatever insights my experience can bring to the site and its readership.
