Apple iPhone 19 Pro could arrive with a massive 200 MP camera

200 MP cameras are quickly becoming the in-thing in the smartphone industry, with flagships from Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo all sporting a varied array of 200 MP sensors. It appears Apple wants in on the fun as well.
As shared by leaker Digital Chat Station, information from supply chain insiders indicates Apple could be preparing to adopt a 200 MP sensor shortly. Supposedly, the Cupertino-based company has its sights set on the same 1/1.12-inch 200 MP unit that will appear on the Oppo Find X9 Ultra—Sony's LYT-901, to be exact.
The leaker claims the sensor will be used as the main camera on the phone and, as such, would be a notable upgrade on the 1/1.28-inch 50 MP one aboard the iPhone 17 Pro phones. While the source provides no information on what device exactly this sensor could be used on, it's tipped to feature on a 2027-bound smartphone from the company—likely the iPhone 19 Pro phones, or potentially a second-gen Apple foldable smartphone. The former is likelier.
