It has been rumored multiple times in the past few months that the iPhone 17 lineup, especially the iPhone 17 Pro, will witness a major design overhaul. The entire flagship lineup is expected to boast an elongated rear camera bump that extends across the width of the device — clearly drawing inspiration from Google's Pixel lineup. Leaked images of the iPhone 17 Air's enclosure have pretty much confirmed this fact, and now, a fresh leak from Majin Bu adds weight to these claims.
In a recent tweet, Majin Bu revealed images of what appears to be components of the iPhone 17 Pro Max's chassis, portraying the aforementioned design update. The three cameras continue being on the left side of the chassis, with the LiDAR sensor and flash module being shifted to the right. The component also reveals a large circular cutout in the middle, which will likely accommodate wireless charging and MagSafe components. As MacRumors notes, the iPhone 17 Pro has previously been rumored to pack a reverse-wireless charging feature, which will surely be a welcome addition.
Moreover, multiple reports have also stated that the iPhone 17 Pro models will do away with titanium in favor of aluminium, boasting a combination of aluminium and glass elements for enhanced durability. Premium iPhone variants have always rocked premium materials, such as stainless steel, or titanium, which sure does make this rumor somewhat difficult to digest. Design changes are always rather polarizing, and it can be said that Apple adopting design cues from Google will certainly be met with criticism from many Apple enthusiasts. That said, the iPhone 17 lineup is still over six months away, so accept any leaks and rumors with a fair amount of skepticism.
