Deal | Apple Watch Series 9 and Watch SE on sale for lowest prices ever in Amazon Prime Day deal

Prime Day has started off with a bang, and buyers hunting for a good deal on a smartwatch may be in luck: the Apple Watch Series 9 and Watch SE are both on sale for their lowest prices ever. 

The Watch Series 9 is one of Apple's current smartwatches. Powered by Apple's S9 chip, it features a 64-bit dual-core processor with a four-core neural engine. The Watch Series 9 is packed with sensors, including an electrical heart sensor, an optical heart rate sensor, a temperature senor, compass, altimeter, and accelerometer. The watch's OLED screen comes in either a 41 or 45 mm case, is covered with a sapphire crystal, and is rated at up 2000 nits of peak brightness. Apple rates the Series 9 at up to 18 hours of battery life in normal use, meaning wearers will need to plop it on the charger at night. (We did note in our review that the Watch Series 9 45 mm can last roughly 1.5-2 days if the Always-On Display is turned off.)

The 2nd generation Watch SE is a fair bit cheaper but retains many of the features of the Watch Series 9. The SE's S8 chip has a similar dual-core processor but only a dual-core neural engine. However, it can still measure heart rates, track exercises, guide with a compass, and send notifications, just like the Series 9. Its OLED screen is protected by Ion-X glass and is only rated at up to 1000 nits of peak brightness, but this should still make it readable in daylight. Apple rates the SE's battery life at 18 hours as well. 

The Watch Series 9 has been slashed to its lowest price ever, coming in at $279.99 for the 41 mm version and $309 for the 45 mm version. Keep in mind these prices are for the GPS-only models, not the cellular-compatible watches. 

The Watch SE is priced at $169.99 and $199.99 for the 40 and 44 mm sizes, respectively. Both of these sizes are currently at their lowest prices ever. Again, these prices are for the GPS-only models.
