Encore une fois. Apple's workhorse in the form of a compact 13-inch goes into the next round. An overview of the most important modifications: New Force Touch touchpad, update to Intel's Broadwell CPU including an Iris Graphics 6100, faster PCIe-based SSD, and a larger battery. We are putting the 2015 model through its paces, and present our first results to bridge the time until publishing our complete test report.

May the Force be with you. An innovative new Force Touch trackpad is probably the most interesting new feature of the early 2015 MacBook Pro Retina 13 – otherwise, there are more evolutionary than revolutionary changes. Even though the overall package is once again convincing: The Windows competition can close the gap.

The 13in MacBook Pro isn’t quite in the mobile workstation class and, try as we might, we don’t find the new Force Touch trackpad as innovative as Apple seems to think it is. Even so, it provides solid performance at a competitive mid-range price – as long as you don’t need to buy too many upgrades – and its outstanding battery live ensures that it will really earn its keep when you’re on the road.

These two laptops are the giants of the ultraportable world. Portable enough to be carried around all day, yet powerful enough to carry our serious work, they’re workhorses through and through. They’re both fabulous machines to work on and use: long-lasting, comfortable to type on and carry.

Nevertheless, you simply can't say "excellence in laptop computing" without including Apple. The impression the Retina Pro conveys isn't about speeds and feeds but about being, more so than its rivals, a genuine pleasure to use. It's an intangible, but put it this way: Going into this review, we thought we'd acknowledge all the competition and not give the MacBook Pro an Editors' Choice. We couldn't.

Elsewhere, essentials such as the backlit keyboard continue to satisfy: the keys are well spaced, with a lovely crisp bounce. The speakers and webcam are surprisingly capable by laptop standards. And with twin Thunderbolt 2 ports, two USB 3 ports, HDMI output and an SD slot, there’s plenty of scope for expansion. The only small annoyance is the way SD cards still stick out of the reader slot by 15mm. The new 13in MacBook Pro is an even more attractive proposition than before. It’s light, powerful and obscenely long-lasting. This is as good as it gets.

In last year’s line-up, moving from entry to middle models of the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display meant gaining more memory and more storage. With this year’s range, it will cost you £200 just to add another ‘128 GB’ (actually a change from 121 GB to 250 GB). With that extra capacity in this middle model can come a near doubling in write speed though, which may prove very useful in some applications.

Which Mac laptop? MacBook Air vs MacBook Pro video comparison review, 13in Apple laptops compared
Source: Macworld.co.uk English
In 2013, when Apple reduced the price of the MacBook Pro with Retina display range, we stopped recommending the 13-inch MacBook Air on the basis that there was only £150 difference in price. As Apple has continued to drop prices we are still looking at just a £150 difference between the two ranges at the entry level. It's great to see Apple reducing prices across its MacBook ranges, but the lower prices of the MacBook Pro Retina range do have the effect of making the MacBook Air look less attractive in comparison

The 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display isn't a major leap forward in technology, but it didn't need to be. A better processor, battery life, faster storage and a Force Touch touchpad make it a worthwhile upgrade for those using almost any non-Retina MacBook Pro. The price premium over similarly specified Windows laptops is vast, but if you can afford it, the superior build quality, great OS and incredible battery life are worth it. If you're not completely convinced that Apple is the way to go then check out some alternatives in our regularly-updated Best Laptops and buying guide.

Taken as a whole, 2015 sees the 13in MacBook Pro become an more attractive proposition than ever. It’s light, powerful and obscenely long lasting. The high-DPI display and all-round quality alone are enough to make us wonder why we’d spend £1,000 on any other laptop, and the innovative Force Touch trackpad simply adds to the attraction.

We've been bigger fans of the MacBook Air than the MacBook Pro in recent years, opting for lightness over the chunkier powerhouse, but that's changing with the release of the latest 13-inch MacBook Pro. The gap between the two is now more defined, making the Pro the more exciting option in many areas.

The MacBook Pro is meant to be Apple’s most powerful laptop for professional users, so the fact that the new Broadwell processor only just matches the performance of its Haswell predecessors is disappointing. The improved battery life is always welcome, of course, but that alone may not be enough of a reason for existing MacBook Pro users to upgrade.

The refreshed MacBook Pro 13 with Retina is in many ways the same system we saw in 2012. It looks the same, weighs (almost) the same, and has the same display. Yet it feels different. Back in 2012, the Pro 13 was one of the most portable systems around, competing neck-and-neck with ultrabooks.

Beyond the teething process that is the new trackpad, the Apple MacBook Pro is practically perfect, arriving with the ports you need and performance you demand, as well as a weight and battery life that makes it very, very tempting for many. We find it particularly interesting that Apple has still managed to strike such a balance between performance and long-life that few PCs can nail themselves, though this could have as much to do with the operating system, as Mac OS is a very different beast compared to Windows.

But on the plus side, this Retina MacBook Pro has a full set of ports, a 23 percent bigger screen, (what should be) significantly faster performance and slightly longer battery life. The new MacBook is undoubtedly the sexy one, but this rMBP is still the workhorse – and possibly the best all-around notebook you can buy today.

This year's Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch, Retina Display ($1,299 as tested) looks the same as the previous model. But inside is neat update, with a fifth-generation (Broadwell) Intel Core i5 processor and the new Force Touch trackpad, which adds more functionality to your mouse clicks. It might not be of huge interest to you if you're using a 2012 or newer model, but if you're hanging on to that older MacBook Pro with an optical drive, it's a worthy upgrade.

It's easy to call many of Apple's products overpriced, and justify the added cost with build quality, excellent tech support and the cost of admission to OS X Yosemite. In the case of the 13" MacBook Pro with Retina display, you're actually getting a good deal for your money: it's faster than competing Ultrabooks and it has better graphics.

Apple MacBook Pro 13 2016

Apple’s updated MacBook Pro 2016 is offered in the same two sizes as the previous models – 13-inch and 15-inch. The smaller 13-inch model has been Apple’s best selling laptop and was the benchmark for many other manufacturers. The new MacBook Pro 13’s overall volume has been reduced dramatically. It is now 17% thinner than its predecessors, measuring up to 14,9 mm and weighing only 1,37 kg. With so much of its thickness shaved off, effective thermal management would be a definite concern for all users. This is why Apple had the forethought to incorporate variably intermittent fan blades throughout the system that can propel air and eliminate heat quietly through the structure.
The new Pro feature is a larger Force Touch trackpad, twice as spacious as the one on the previous model, providing users more room for finger gestures and clicks. The keyboard also received an upgrade to include the new butterfly mechanism that provides four times more key stability. The new display in the MacBook Pro has been heralded by Apple to be the best Retina display ever in a Mac notebook. The new and improved screen has a brighter LED backlighting and an increased contrast ratio, able to deliver deeper blacks and brighter whites. It is also 67% brighter, with a maximum brightness rating of 500 nits. Another important spec of the MacBook Pro that will endear it to creative professionals like photographers and videographers is its colour gamut, which is now 25% wider than the standard RGB and includes the P3 colour space.
The latest novelty of this notebook is the multi-touch bar. It is essentially a strip of glass built into the keyboard where the function keys used to be. Being contextually aware of whatever software is being used, the display on the touch bar changes automatically, depending on the software running at that instance to give easy access to the relevant tools, for example - system control like volume and brightness, interactive ways to adjust or browse through content, intelligent typing features like emoji and predictive text, and more. To access the function keys, simply hold down the FN key on the keyboard. Potential buyers should be aware that the touch bar is not available on the entry-level 13-inch models. The new MacBook Pro is also the first Mac to come with the Touch ID fingerprint sensor, which can be used to unlock the notebook in an instant and even switch between users. The Touch ID also enables fast and secure online purchases via Apple Pay.
At its core, the 13-inch models offer dual-core Intel i5 or i7 processors. On the memory front, the 13-inch models start with 8 GB of RAM, and are upgradeable to 16 GB. The MacBook Pro also has excellent battery life, being able to survive up to 10 hours on a single charge. Without a doubt, the new Macbook Pro 13 will continue to be Apple’s best selling laptop and will be the benchmark for many other future laptops. However, its hefty price tag is a major concern for potential buyers. The model that comes with the touch bar costs as much as a gaming laptop running on Windows. Apart from that, there have also been cases of faulty GPU in many of its first shipment. It is still unclear if this is actually a problem that will effect all models and if Apple will fix it soon.

Brilliant, even without Touch? The new MacBook Pro laptops have arrived. The most striking new feature: a Touch Bar instead of function keys. Apple still offers a model without this novelty, and wants to target the "entry-level sector" – price: 1699 Euros ($1499). We already have a device in our editorial office and will share our results in this live review.

MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016) Laptop Review
Source: Reviewed.com English
If you're looking for the best all-around MacBook in the 2016 lineup, you should definitely get the one that has an updated Retina screen, fast Intel Core i chip, plenty of pots, and a great keyboard. The problem? This laptop doesn't exist. While it's not too late to pick up a 2015 MacBook Air that comes close, our ideal MacBook continues to be imaginary.

Apple MacBook Pro Touch Bar Review: the best laptop ever made just changed the scene forever
Source: Digital Spy English
More than laptop evolution, the 2016 MacBook Pro Touch Bar is computing revolution, and not just because of its innovative new input option. Yes, the OLED strip is a brilliant way to speed up whatever you're working on, but it's still early in its evolution cycle. There are already dozens of programmes that support it, and this figure is only set to grow. What really wows though, is how the whole package works together.

Review new Apple MacBook Pro 2016 (13-inch)
Source: Bill Bennett English
The 13-inch MacBook Pro starts up in 12.6 seconds, pretty respectable. This is also running macOS 10.12.1 Sierra. Interestingly, there is no obvious startup button any more, you just hold down the rightmost end of the Touch Bar (it has a slight depression so you can find it with a finger tip) for a couple of seconds. You have to put in your passcode, starting up from off, but hereafter you can use a fingertip on this zone (you set this ability when you first set up your…

I think the easiest way to think of the new MacBook Pro notebooks is this: if you don’t mind the ports and the high price, then the new MacBook Pro notebooks are one of the best notebooks you can buy. It’s fantastically well made; it has a wonderful display, keyboard, and trackpad; and it offers really great performance for a 13-inch notebook with no discrete graphics.

So the main question, is the new MacBook Pro worth its premium price tag? To be honest, I’m a little bit split. For a starting price of $1,799 for the base model, you want to be sure you need the upgrade.

80% MacBook Pro 13-inch (Touch Bar) Review: Is It Good for Business?
Source: Business News Daily English
It's easy to complain about the Touch Bar's shortcomings, but I'm not ready to write the feature off completely. It can seem a bit confusing and gimmicky at times, but it's bound to get a lot more use than the top row of keys you get on other laptops. And the potential for genuinely useful functionality is certainly there, even if a full touch screen would provide similar functionality in a more intuitive manner.

MacBook Pro with Touch Bar Review (late-2016)
Source: Slashgear English
That doesn’t mean there’s not plenty of potential for a small, full-color display that leaves your primary screen uncluttered and allows you to manipulate tools with one hand while you use the trackpad with the other. Just as Thunderbolt 3 needs time to gain traction, so the Touch Bar is dependent on third-party support and imagination to really come into its own. Life on the cutting edge is, inevitably, something of a gamble as you wait for everyone else to catch up.

86% MacBook Pro review (2016): A step forward and a step back
Source: Engadget English
There's lots to like about the new MacBook Pro: its slimmed-down design, brighter screen, improved audio, faster graphics and disk speeds. But by doing things like removing full-sized USB ports, the memory card reader and even the Function row, Apple seems to forgotten how many of us actually work. An even better MacBook Pro would be one that doesn't require users to make drastic changes to their workflow.

70% 13-inch MacBook Pro review: Too many tradeoffs
Source: PC World English
For someone in my shoes, this 13-inch MacBook Pro is preferable to the 12-inch MacBook in Apple’s current lineup, and a solid replacement for my aging 13-inch MacBook Air. Its speed gains over the early 2015 13-inch MacBook Pro are marginal, but the graphics performance is much improved. If this machine isn’t Pro enough to do your best work, the Touch Bar models (especially the 15-inch version) have better specs—or you could try to hold out even longer for next year’s models, which will hopefully have Kaby Lake processors and perhaps 32GB of RAM.

New Apple MacBooks: Are You Not Entertained?
Source: Forbes English
The new MacBooks announced the week before last were conservative except for the new Touch Bar. Don’t read conservative as easy. We must at the same time acknowledge, though, that like the iPhone 7, Apple changed almost everything with the new MacBooks. So how can you change everything and be conservative? Aside from Touch Bar, we had seen the Trackpad, keyboard, WiFi, Bluetooth and display core technologies in prior products and Intel’s Skylake notebooks have been shipping over a year.

Review: On the road with the 13-inch MacBook Pro
Source: Six Colours English
Would I choose this model over the new MacBook Pro models with the Touch Bar and Touch ID? If money was no object, probably not. But if you’re a MacBook Air user (or were considering buying a MacBook Air), money will probably be relevant. This model is a tweener, to be sure, but it’s got a lot more than the MacBook can provide without the higher price tag of the Touch Bar models. Surely there’s a sweet spot there.

100% Apple MacBook Pro 2016 review
Source: Stuff TV English
Yes, I know that Apple’s prices have gone up across the board, but it’s far from the only tech company to make such a move, and when I look at what else you can get for similar money to this entry-level MacBook Pro I don’t see a great deal of temptation. Sure the Surface Book will tick more boxes for a certain type of user, but I’d say that this is the more universal device. I know one thing’s for sure: it’s going to feel like a big step back in time when Apple comes to collect this new MacBook Pro and I’m left with the chunky, ungainly 2015 model that I was still in love with just a few short days ago.

Overall, the MacBook Pro is impressive, with improved screen quality and battery life over the previous model, and its use of 6th Generation Intel processors helps boost performance as well. Apple Macbook Pro 13-Inch (2016) Review
Source: Gear Open English
The 13-inch MacBook Pro improves upon its predecessor in nearly every way. It’s faster, lighter and more compact, and it offers a brighter display and considerably longer battery life than most Windows machines. I also like the rich and powerful stereo speakers. However, while I’m glad Apple included 2 fast Thunderbolt 3 ports, I wish it kept a traditional USB 3.0 port around for charging the iPhone and connecting other peripherals, as well as an SD card slot.

70% 13" MacBook Pro (Late 2016)
Source: Mobile Tech Review English
On the upside, even though I don't think anyone thought that the already very slim outgoing Pro models needed to be even skinnier, this is a very good looking and portable machine. Materials, build and aesthetics are top notch. The display is one of the best I've seen on a 13" laptop, and it has low reflectance even when not set to high brightness. Performance is fine, though it's not faster than competing 13" Ultrabooks in the $1,000 tier (though storage is faster than most). Though the lack of currently popular ports is a problem, it's great to have two forward looking Thunderbolt 3 ports (though 1 is occupied by the charger). On the more expensive model, the 4 ports feel just about right.

MacBook Pro (2016): Is It Good for Business?
Source: Business News Daily English
As previously mentioned, you get a Touch ID fingerprint reader on all Touch Bar-equipped models, which will give workers a nice security boost. Additionally, the trackpad has been scaled up (it's huge), and the keyboard has been updated to Apple's second-generation "butterfly switch" buttons. Exceedingly slim laptops don't always provide a great typing experience, though, so we're eager to put the slim new MacBook Pro's layout through its paces.

Apple MacBook Pro (2016) with Touch Bar: Thinner, brighter, faster, and very touchy feely
Source: Pocket Lint English
Adding the Touch Bar is a more innovative move. It gives Apple MacBook Pro users greater touch control they are probably used to without making the entire screen one big touch screen like the iPad. That was something that Steve Jobs always said was a big "no, no". But by adding touch elements that change an adapt, the laptop becomes a lot more intelligent, and smudge free.

Apple: Apple Inc. is an American multinational corporation which designs and manufactures consumer electronics and software products. Apple software includes the Mac OS X operating system but nowadays Macbooks are also able to run Windows. Apple has at least sporadically been considered the most valuable company in the world since 2011 and has consistently ranked among the Top 10 companies in the world.

In the laptop sector, Apple's market share was 9.3% in 2014 and 10.3% in 2016. The latter corresponds to the 5th place. In the smartphone segment, Apple achieved 15.3% in the first quarter of 2016, which means a market share loss when compared to the 18.3% in same quarter of the previous year.
Nevertheless, Apple ranked second place behind Samsung in both years.

There are tons of reviews on Apple laptops, smartphones and tablets. The ratings are significantly above-average (as of 2016).
