Reviews for the Apple MacBook Air 2020 i3
Apple equips the entry-level SKU of the MacBook Air with a dual-core processor, but is the performance still sufficient in 2020? Or should you get a configuration with a quad-core CPU? And: What are the effects on the temperatures and the fan noise?

The MacBook Air 2020 is a great laptop. If you’re a student or just someone who want a thin and light Mac that can be had for under a grand, then I don’t think you’ll be disappointed in the slightest.

The new Air's price drop to just under four-figures will also be critical to its appeal, which is why we feel the MacBook Air once again becomes the Mac to buy. So if you need a MacBook and don't need huge amounts of power for video or photo editing, this is the one for you.

If you're an existing user of a non-Retina MacBook Air from 2017 or earlier and were holding out for an upgrade, I feel the 2020 refresh is worth going for. The more compact body, better display, more efficient processor, and higher SSD capacity are all big upgrades. Plus, the new keyboard finally fixes the many complaints users have had with Apple's previous keyboard. The pricing might not be as aggressive as what the non-Retina models were selling for a couple of years ago in India, but it's still a lower price compared to the 2018 MacBook Air, which is a step in the right direction.

This year's MacBook Air fixes a lot of our complaints with previous models. It comes with new, more powerful, innards, a drastically improved keyboard and more storage space. However, the screen is a little muted and battery life is average. Still, if you're an Apple fan looking for an affordable MacBook, we can heartily recommend the new MacBook Air – something we've not been able to do with previous versions.

With a brilliant keyboard and solid performance, the entry level MacBook Air is once again the best Apple laptop for most people despite the battery life taking a hit if you don’t use Apple’s apps.

The 2020 Apple MacBook Air has an amazing design, great keyboard, a best-in-class trackpad, and plenty else to love. It's not for the power-hungry, but it makes for an amazing experience when you favor general quality over raw performance. It will do well for most people unless you require some real brawn.

Apple's 2020 base 13" MacBook Pro has been refreshed with a couple of minor updates, so it seems like it's not the best value in the lineup. However, a lot of people could be making the mistake of avoiding this $1299 MacBook Pro because of the 8th-Gen processor, especially those who choose a MacBook Air instead. In this review, I talk about the differences between the Macbook Air and MacBook Pro models, as well as how the $1799 MacBook Pro compares. The 8th-Gen chip is the same as last year, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't perform well. It actually does perform fairly well! I also discuss the new Magic keyboard and other benefits you get with this year's base MacBook Pro.

With a cheaper entry price and an improved keyboard, the only thing against the excellence of the 2020 MacBook Air is its less-than-full-day battery life. Otherwise it’s the go-to laptop we’d recommend to most people.

The Apple MacBook Air 2020 is an excellent thin-and-light laptop, and this price cut makes it great value. Apple has fixed its key flaws, leaving only minor gripes behind.

The price tag is good and the keyboard is excellent. For those shopping at the low end, the 2020 MacBook Air is the true successor to the famous old Air, and the one you should buy today to replace your ageing old model. It also makes it a no-brainer choice for first-time or student MacBook buyers.

My review of the 2020 MacBook Air against the MacBook Pro, XPS 13, HP Envy and Surface Laptop 3. It's great, but be aware of what you're actually getting with macOS.

The 2020 model takes what was great about its predecessor and enhances it with a much better keyboard, double storage as standard, and a price drop. It's a win-win.

As affordable MacBooks go, Apple seems to have focused well on what users will want - namely, a lower price tag. The performance and build quality seem pretty strong in our early tests, and only a slightly muted color reproduction from the screen muddies the waters. However, that's a small gripe, and overall it seems that Apple has iterated nicely for the MacBook Air 2020.

There are hardly any tablets in this display size range anymore. For subnotebooks, on the other hand, it is the standard format.
The advantage of subnotebooks is that the entire laptop can be small and therefore easily portable. The smaller display also has the advantage of requiring less power, which further improves battery life and thus mobility. The disadvantage is that reading texts is more strenuous on the eyes. High resolutions are more likely to be found in standard laptops.
