Ever since its resurgence under HMD Global, Nokia has once again established its presence in the consumer electronics segment. A part of the reason why Nokia phones are a hit among the fans is that they receive updates on time. The company makes it a point to keep even low-cost, sub $100 phones such as the Nokia 1 and 2 series up to date with the latest software. Android 10 is now making its way to Nokia 7.2 users worldwide. The software was supposed to arrive a few weeks ago, but got delayed due to unknown reasons.
The announcement comes via a Tweet from HMD Global's Chief Product Officer, Juho Sarvikas. Nokia phones run a clean, customization-free version of Android, so this update brings forth very few OEM-specific changes. The only notable addition is a new app called 'Sound Amplifier.' Nokia claims that it helps boost audio while using headphones. The Nokia 7.2 also gets a host of Android 10 features such as a system-wide Dark Mode, Digital Wellbeing stats, and more.
The Android 10 update for the Nokia 7.2 should be available to users across the globe in the coming days. It may take you a while to get it, as the rollout is incremental, meaning that only a few users will receive it initially. Nokia has promised two major Android upgrades for every device. Nokia 7.2 launched with Android 9 Pie out of the box, so it stands to reason that it will also get Android 11.
