Launched alongside the P40 series, Huawei has announced plans to upgrade over 30 devices to EMUI 10.1. While still based on Android 10, EMUI 10.1 refines upon EMUI 10 in many areas, including smoother animations, along with multi-window, multi-device control panel and multi-screen collaboration improvements. EMUI 10.1 introduces MeeTime too, Huawei's answer to FaceTime. Even an AI assistant is onboard, with Celia likely replacing Google Assistant as the default digital assistant.

While Huawei is yet to finish rolling out EMUI 10, to the frustration of many people, the company has announced its EMUI 10.1 roadmap. According to its EMUI Weibo account, the update will reach 35 devices. It is worth noting that these are devices that will be eligible for the EMUI 10.1 beta program, so the final number of devices that eventually receive the OS upgrade may differ. Equally, expect Huawei to release region-specific EMUI 10.1 roadmaps too, as it has for EMUI 10.

Nonetheless, the absence of the P20 or P20 Pro from the EMUI 10.1 beta program effectively confirms that Huawei has demoted the series. EMUI 10 will be the series' second OS upgrade, so do not necessarily expect EMUI 10.1 to arrive, nor EMUI 11.

We have included the list of devices that Huawei has confirmed will be eligible for the EMUI 10.1 beta program. Presumably, these devices will also receive stable versions of EMUI 10.1. The update, based on Android 10, refines upon EMUI 10 in many areas, including smoother animations, along with multi-window, multi-device control panel and multi-screen collaboration improvements. EMUI 10.1 introduces MeeTime too, Huawei's answer to FaceTime. Even an AI assistant is onboard, with Celia likely replacing Google Assistant as the default digital assistant.

The 35 devices will be split into four batches, with the first already being underway. The devices that are eligible for EMUI 10.1 are as follows:
