There has been plenty of talk about upcoming Nokia smartphones lately, with the arrival of new flagships being touted. While a foldable Nokia smartphone may not arrive until 2021, there have been fresh rumours about a successor to the Nokia 9 PureView, although one that ditches its five rear-facing cameras. There has also been talk of the Nokia 1.3, 5.2, 8.2 5G and a mysterious "Original" arriving at MWC 2020, which takes place between 24-27 February in Barcelona.
Now, Pocket-lint claims that Nokia, or rather its parent company HMD Global, will host an event on February 23. Specifically, the HMD Global event will commence at 16:30 CET, with registration starting at 16:00. While not presenting any information to validate this, Pocket-lint is insistent that the event will occur in Barcelona at MWC. However, and as some of you may have twigged, this would mean that the event will occur before MWC 2020 has started.
The website asserts that Nokia may reserve MWC for showcasing new mid-range handsets, and possibly an Android feature phone. Pocket-lint did not expand further on this, but the latter could be the rumoured "Original", while mid-range handsets could be successors to the Nokia 4.2, 5.1 and 8.1. We shall keep you updated with information when we receive it.
