AnTuTu V12 public beta arrives with major changes to how phones are benchmarked

AnTuTu has officially released the public beta of AnTuTu V12, bringing a substantial overhaul to how the popular benchmarking platform evaluates smartphone performance. Rather than simply chasing higher benchmark numbers, the company says it has optimized its testing scenarios to better reflect actual usage and provide a clearer picture of smartphone performance. The update introduces changes across four main testing areas: CPU, GPU, Memory and UX.
For the CPU benchmark, the single-core and multi-core tests have been refined to better reflect how processors behave during everyday use, including the balance between high-frequency performance and power efficiency. AnTuTu has also published sample scores from real devices for reference. The company says the results were recorded under controlled conditions, with a room temperature of around 26°C (~ 79° F), battery levels above 80% and the display fixed at 300 nits. However, as the new benchmark uses revised test items and scoring methods, its results cannot be directly compared with scores from previous versions.
For graphics, AnTuTu has given the GPU benchmark a tougher set of scenes, with graphics that are richer in detail and more realistic than before. The updated test features smoother shadows and more realistic lighting effects, while aiming to better reflect the graphics demands of high-end mobile games. The company has also added a new Cooperative Matrix test based on Vulkan technology, which evaluates the GPU’s matrix-computing capabilities and adds another demanding workload to the graphics test.
The Memory benchmark also gets several new tests to examine how smartphones handle demanding tasks. It now includes a dynamic latency test that measures memory behavior under mixed loads, along with a new fragmentation test to assess performance as memory becomes more heavily utilized. AnTuTu has also refined its sequential and random read/write tests and application-level I/O testing to reduce external influences and provide a better picture of real-world memory performance.
Beyond the benchmark changes, the update also gets a visual overhaul with a cleaner interface and a redesigned card-based information feed. The new layout organizes content into categories, making it easier to browse and access more details within the app. AnTuTu has also tailored the interface for tablets and foldable devices, using their larger displays to show more information at once.

The software has also been updated to support Android 16K page sizes, helping it stay compatible with newer Android devices and memory configurations. The AnTuTu V12 public beta is now rolling out through the company's official website and major app stores.
