As shown in our in-depth review, the Dell XPS 9365 convertible provided "one of the best 2-in-1 experiences from a 13-inch notebook that's even more compact and lighter than the latest from Lenovo or HP" about a year ago when it arrived. However, it seems that the internals of this machine can handle 8th generation Intel processors as well since a listing of the XPS 9365 2-in-1 with Intel Core i5-8200Y and Intel Core i7-8500Y chips has been recently spotted online.
The three processors currently available for the Dell XPS 13 convertible are all 7th-generation chips: Intel Core i5-7Y54, Intel Core i7-7Y75, and Intel Core i5-7Y57. The two 8th-generation processors mentioned earlier surfaced on the official website of Dell Chile, so this is more than just another rumor. The fact that the listing has been quickly withdrawn shows that the updated XPS 13 2-in-1 might not be ready yet, but we should get ready for it anyway.
What should we expect from the Amber Lake-driven XPS 13 9365? Nothing much, except for the noticeable increase in clock speeds and the performance jump it brings when combined with an updated architecture overall. As for the battery life and the possible overheating issues that may arise, this is something we will have to see once the updated Dell XPS 13 9365 arrives.
If you happen to own last year's model already, would you grab the updated XPS 13 9365? If you don't, would you consider finally buying it? Let us know in the comments.
