Acer releases new budget laptop with Ryzen 5 6600H and 16 GB RAM

Acer is making the Swift Go Ryzen Edition more affordable with a new entry-level configuration. This version is for people who want the same laptop without paying extra for faster chips like Intel Core Ultra 7 or Core Ultra 9.

It runs on AMD's Ryzen 5 6600H processor, which has 6 cores and 12 threads based on the Zen 3+ architecture. The laptop also comes with 16 GB of DDR5 RAM, a 512 GB PCIe 4.0 SSD, and the same dual-fan, dual-heatpipe cooling system.

If you wants more performance, you can also consider the Swift Go Ryzen 7 version (currently available on Amazon), which launched earlier.

The display is unchanged as well. This Acer Swift Go features a 14-inch 16:10 IPS panel with a resolution of 1,920 × 1,200 and a 90% screen-to-body ratio. A full-size backlit keyboard with a numeric keypad, a large touchpad, and a hinge that opens flat to 180 degrees are also included.

The laptop comes with a 62.7 Wh battery and supports USB Type-C charging. That means it can be charged with many compatible USB-C chargers instead of relying on a dedicated power adapter.

Port options include a full-function USB Type-C port with DisplayPort and 100 W Power Delivery, along with HDMI, three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, Gigabit Ethernet (RJ45), a microSD card reader, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a Kensington lock slot.

The new configuration is currently available for CNY 4,399 (around US$650). Acer has not announced plans to release this version in other markets.
