Acer Swift X 16 to typowe uniwersalne rozwiązanie.

All-in-all, Acer Swift X 16 is an example of a “Jack of all trades” formula. It packs everything that you need, and even more. If you have a $1000 limit – that’s a good option that gets the job done and helps you relax after a working day. Where it falls short is in details: it doesn’t have the highest-resolution screen, the most comfortable touchpad, the best cooling solution, or record-breaking battery life. But these are the compromises you have to take if you want everything at a $1000 price tag. The question is would I change my Macbook Air for something bigger and more capable, like Acer Swift X? Probably not. I got used to a smaller laptop footprint, a better touchpad, and a battery life. But would I recommend it to the others? Absolutely. If you need a laptop that gets the job done – Acer Swift X 16 is a laptop just for that.

If priced right, this 16-inch Swift X 16 might meet the success of the smaller 14-inch Acer Swift X, which ended up highly recommended and popular among buyers and reviewers in its class of mid-tier compact performance laptops. This Acer Swift X 16 laptop might end up a viable all-purpose choice for some of you, but at the same time, it might not. Those of you looking for either an AMD platform, a viable gaming portable laptop, or even a modern creator laptop with an excellent display might find better value with some of the alternatives out there, both in Acer’s lineup or from competing OEMs. This article on the best full-size portable laptops should be a great way to further research those options. That wraps up my take on this Acer Swift X SFX16-51G. I might come back to this and update the Performance section for a proper review, once Acer starts selling these in stores and releases final software, but only if there’s enough interest from you. Let me know in the comments section down below, and I’m also interested in your feedback and thoughts on this series.

The Acer Swift X 16 (2022) is a light 16-inch laptop with additional graphics performance. The bright display finally comes in the 16:10 format and offers a high resolution. Intel's Alder Lake P-Core i7 CPU helps the multimedia laptop to develop a powerful performance. But how does Intel's Arc A370M fare?

The Acer Swift X 16 offers a big screen and decent power for a very reasonable price. Compromises have had to be made to accommodate the low(ish) cost, and they present in the somewhat underwhelming design and battery life. But it's still a solid laptop, with lots of connectivity options, a quality 2.5K display and comfortable typing experience.

As with every laptop I review, I essentially just swapped the Acer Swift X 16 into my daily routine for about a week and a half. This meant using it for researching and producing my articles, watching videos on YouTube, conducting video meetings, and working on my own fiction writing - plus a bit of gaming here and there, when I had the time. Although I generally used the Swift X 16 plugged in during my testing process, I did make sure to unplug it and take it with me (along with my dog) to a cafe where I could do some work on battery power. I also used it unplugged in the evening to watch Netflix in bed on three separate occasions, and it never died on me. We pride ourselves on our independence and our rigorous review-testing process, offering up long-term attention to the products we review and making sure our reviews are updated and maintained - regardless of when a device was released, if you can still buy it, it's on our radar.

With Acer’s Swift X 16-inch, you’re getting what you pay for. A $1,249, it’s quite a bit cheaper than most of the heavy hitters in its size category. But it’s also equipped to match, sporting a 1,920 by 1,200 pixel display, middling battery life, and a chassis that champions function over form. Yet maybe that’s the idea: the Swift X 16-inch is poised to please someone who wants a big screen and enough oomph to get them through the work day, and needs little else.

For the asking price, the Acer Swift X 16 is a good, solid laptop. The display is good, as is the sound system, while the build quality and the keyboard are top notch. There’s also a decent selection of ports, and general performance is decent. The problem is that the new Intel GPU, at least in this instance, isn’t particularly impressive. I’m sure there are cost advantages to Acer in fitting the A370M rather than an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 – indeed, the Swift X 16’s price tag wouldn’t be unreasonable if it didn’t have a discrete GPU – but it simply doesn’t add enough to turn a good laptop into an exceptional one.

Thanks to the additional Intel Arc A370M graphics processor, Acer's notebook promises significantly better performance in image and video editing – even for games. Even beyond that, the features seem impressive and meet high expectations. Unfortunately, a few flaws in the details spoil the overall impression, which is otherwise good.

The Swift X 16 provides excellent performance for demanding productivity work and enough power to handle less creative workflows — especially for this price. Creators will have to spend a lot more to get significantly better performance, but for everyone else, the Swift X 16 is an affordable option. It also offers enough quality to meet its premium price, and its OLED display is superb. The Swift X 16 is a solid choice in the growing field of 16-inch laptops.

The port selection has no glaring omissions. You get a pair of Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, a pair of USB Type-A ports, an HDMI out, a headphone jack and a microSD card slot. The power connector is located in the middle of the left edge instead of the more common and useful spot near the rear of the laptop. This placement means you might find yourself fighting the power cord in certain situations, depending on where the nearest outlet is located. The Acer Swift X 16 hits the mark by giving creators a roomy OLED display backed by a powerful CPU/GPU combo. Without those two items, it's difficult to recommend a laptop to design professionals and enthusiasts. That said, it's difficult to recommend the Swift X 16 over the Samsung Galaxy Book 3 Ultra because Samsung's model not only provides a fantastic OLED display and a strong CPU/GPU pair, but it also boasts a sleeker design and much better battery life.

The Acer Swift Edge (SFX16-61G) is definitely a multipurpose device. It has a modern and mature design so you can be a gamer in disguise in the office thanks to the powerful CPU and GPU. People who are traveling a lot should like the thin profile (17.9 mm) and the weight which is below 2 kilos.

Acer’s Swift X 16 is an excellent choice for shoppers who want a 16-inch laptop and care more for performance than attractive design or long battery life. The Swift X 16’s gorgeous OLED display, spacious keyboard, and big touchpad make it pleasant to use in basic day-to-day tasks. It also has an AMD Ryzen 9 processor and Nvidia RTX 4050 graphics, which combine to deliver good performance in a wide variety of productivity applications and games. A few minor mistakes, like poorly-placed USB-C ports that lack DisplayPort, will turn off some shoppers, but those who can accept its shortcomings will find the Swift X 16 a versatile daily driver.

The Acer Swift X 16 (2023) (also known as SFX16-61G) is a very capable machine that strikes that fine balance between performance and portability. For $1600 you are getting a well-built, highly capable machine that can handle the rigors of your daily activities. The Swift X 16 is tailored for content creators, students, or business professionals that want a gorgeous display and a lot of power. The performance of the AMD processor was fantastic and it's nice to see the inclusion of a dedicated GPU. The RTX 4050 won't necessarily allow you to play your favorite game at maxed-out settings, but it's still a very capable piece of hardware. While this laptop is a tad heavy and can't quite make it through an entire workday without its battery needing a recharge, the performance, build quality, and display are more than enough to make up for any shortcomings. You can get the Acer Swift X 16 (SFX16-61G) directly from Acer or from Best Buy.

Any company trying to churn out a high-end creative laptop for $1,599/£1,499 has its work cut out in a world of similar rivals such as the Huawei MateBook D16 (2024) and the MacBook Air M3, but Acer has done well here. Internally, the AMD processor and Nvidia GPU do a fantastic job of serving up creative power – there’s enough for virtually any task. The Acer is relatively quiet and has decent connectivity. The OLED panel is bright, bold, broad and good enough for most creative workloads, it’s that word though – most. While the OLED panel here is good, if you spend more you’ll get something with greater Adobe ability, different colour profiles and extra brightness and pop.

Acer’s 2024 Swift X update is by no means a bad machine. It offers very good performance for the price and the display is a joy to behold. The problem is that nothing about it stands out from the opposition. Moreover, the absence of a MUX switch and a display colour profile selector put it at a disadvantage compared to competing machines from Asus, Samsung, Apple and Lenovo. It’s also very hard to overcome the feeling that Acer’s design department is working to the principle of “that’ll do”. For this sort of money, I expect a laptop that makes me go “oooh” when I open the box, not “meh” and for that reason the Acer Swift X 16 2024 is not a laptop I can wholeheartedly recommend.
