AYA NEO NEXT revealed with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800U APU, up to 32 GB and an extraordinary price
Third-generation AYA NEO consoles have arrived, only a few months after the company unveiled the NEO 2021 PRO. As expected, the AYA NEO NEXT features the Ryzen 7 5800U, now replaced by the Ryzen 7 6800U. While the latter relies on AMD's new RDNA 2 architecture, the Ryzen 7 5800U has the same Vega iGPU as the Ryzen 7 4800U. According to the AYA NEO NEXT website, there will be four models:
- AYA NEO NEXT
- AYA NEO NEXT Advance
- AYA NEO NEXT Advance Signature Edition
- AYA NEO NEXT Pro
All models will utilise the same APU, with all but the Pro featuring 16 GB of RAM. By contrast, the AYA NEO NEXT Pro will have 32 GB of RAM, albeit still LPDRR4x-4266 memory. As the screenshots below show, the AYA NEO NEXT will launch for US$1,265, before eventually rising to US$1,315. However, the AYA NEO Pro will cost at least US$1,465.
The AYA NEO NEXT also retains the 7-inch and 800p display from previous models. AYA has changed the case design slightly though, making it look more like the Nintendo Switch Lite than previous AYA NEO consoles do. The AYA NEO NEXT will be orderable from February via an undisclosed crowdfunding website. Previously, the AYA NEO received funding on Indiegogo.
