The action RPG Atlyss, developed by Kiseff and published by KisSoft, entered Early Access on November 23. This indie title immerses players in a surreal fantasy world filled with strange creatures and unexplored landscapes. Players begin by selecting one of five classes (though only three are available in Early Access) and can dive into detailed character customization. The available classes ("Fighter," "Mystic," and "Bandit") focus on melee combat, ranged attacks and magic. From there, players venture into an open world designed for unrestricted exploration.
Players can explore enigmatic locations, take on quests and battle a variety of monsters. A key highlight are the dungeons, which feature challenging puzzles and formidable foes, reminiscent of the shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The Early Access version already includes two fully playable dungeons, with the "Rage Boar Dungeon" standing out for its particularly demanding challenges.
Dynamic battles and seamless switching between single and multiplayer
The dynamic battle system is particularly praised, comparable to Zelda, but with a stronger focus on certain play styles due to the class system. Atlyss also has visual parallels to Nintendo's cult RPG, but is more in line with older titles such as The Wind Waker or Twilight Princess.
What also sets Atlyss apart is the seamless transition between single-player and multiplayer mode. Players can explore the world of Atlyss completely on their own without having to forego any content. Those who prefer to play with friends can switch to online mode at any time. There you can master challenges in co-op mode, explore dungeons or compete with other players in PvP.
