The ASUS Zenbook 14X with a Core i5-13500H CPU, a 14.5-inch OLED display, 8 GB of LPDDR5 memory, and 512 GB of storage has been priced down by US$250 at Best Buy. The discounted notebook seems like a good deal, as it is quite well-reviewed owing to commendable construction, beautiful display, strong performance, and extended battery life.

The 2023 ASUS Zenbook 14X is an ultrabook boasting a 14.5-inch OLED display, the latest Intel Raptor Lake processors, and long battery life. Best Buy is now selling the Core i5-13500H-equipped SKU with a juicy 31% discount. The discount which translates to US$250 brings the Zenbook 14X price to only US$549.99 (via slickdeals). Per Honey’s price history tool, this the lowest rate in 30 and the second lowest in 120 days.

Aside from the Raptor Lake Core i5-13500H, the ASUS Zenbook 14X is outfitted with 8 GB of LPDDR5 memory, 512 GB of PCIe Gen 4 storage, an FHD webcam, and a 14.5-inch touch-sensitive OLED panel. The display boasts a 120 Hz refresh rate, 400 nits of advertised brightness, 2.8K resolution, 0.2 ms response time, and full coverage of the DCI-P3 gamut.

The OLED display is, unsurprisingly, the key selling point of the ASUS Zenbook 14X, as we don’t get to see such a high-quality display in this price range. In our review of the Zenbook 14X with a Core i9-13900H, the display excelled in just about every aspect. From 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 gamut and technically infinite contrast to 376 nits of average brightness, the OLED panel is a delight to behold.

Furthermore, the ASUS Zenbook 14X has a solid chassis that resists twists and bends, a comfortable keyboard with crisp feedback, and a large touchpad with accurate tracking. The touchpad can also function as a numpad.

In terms of performance, the Zenbook 14X model on sale comes with a Core i5-13500H CPU without a dedicated GPU. The Core i5-13500H is a 12-core chip with 4 P-cores and 8 E-cores. In our testing, the processor is a respectable mid-range CPU with performance that is on par with the Ryzen 5 7645HX and the last-gen Core i7-12800H in the Cinebench R23 Multi-Core benchmark with a score of 13,941. While the single-core performance lags behind the Ryzen 5 7645HX, it is still quite respectable, as the chip scored 1,744 points in the Cinebench R23 Single-Core in our testing.

In other words, the Zenbook 14X with a Core i5-13500H has plenty of CPU performance for day-to-day as well as moderately-intensive tasks.

Additionally, the ASUS Zenbook 14X has a long battery life despite the OLED display. Our review unit with a more power-hungry Core i9-13900H lasted 10 hours in our WLAN test. So, the Zenbook 14X unit on sale should, in theory, last longer.

So, if you are in the market for an excellent ultrabook that ticks almost all the boxes, the ASUS Zenbook 14X should definitely be on your radar.
