It’s been seven months since Android Pie was released to the general public, and some OEMs are only just starting to roll out the update to their devices. Xiaomi is, sadly, one of those, as the company is yet to send out the Pie update to a large portion of its devices. Thankfully, the Chinese OEM does have that in mind, and has released some more information on its plans for the Pie rollout.
So far, Xiaomi has only sent out the Pie update to its premium phones, with the Mi Mix 2S and Mi 8 being some of the company’s first offerings to get a taste of Pie. Xiaomi’s Android One phones—the Mi A1, Mi A2, and Mi A2 Lite—have also also received Pie but those are special cases, for obvious reasons.
Going by the roadmap, Xiaomi plans on sending out Pie to the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi S2/Y2 this quarter. We’re two weeks away from the end of the quarter, though, so users of those devices won’t have to wait for much longer. Meanwhile, the Mi Mix 2, Mi 6, Redmi 6A, Redmi 6, and Mi Note 3 are all scheduled to get Pie in Q2.
The company is apparently still working on Pie for the Mi 6X, Redmi Note 6 Pro, and Mi 9 Explorer—a device that isn’t even launched yet.
