Deal | 77-inch Samsung S84D OLED TV is back on sale at the lowest price ever
We reported in early December 2024 that Best Buy had the 77-inch Samsung S84 OLED TV on sale for just $1,599.99. The discounted price was an incredible 51% or $1,700 lower than the list price of the TV. The deal is now back and you can once again buy the Samsung S84D 77-inch TV for what is a record-low price (via slickdeals).
The Samsung S84D is the Best Buy-exclusive version of the Samsung S85D with the addition of 30 W speakers. As such, RTINGS’ review of the S85D is a pretty good place to see what the Samsung S84 is capable of.
For starters, the RTINGS rated the TV a fantastic 8.7 out of 10 owing to the infinite contrast, wide viewing angles, solid reflection handling, and a slew of gaming features like a 120 Hz refresh rate and VRR. The Samsung S84 also does a decent job of enhancing low-quality content and upscaling low-res media thanks to the NQ4 AI Gen 2 processor.
When it comes to color performance, the Samsung S84 does a pretty good job with close to 99% DCI-P3 uv coverage and excellent color volume. The TV also handles reflections quite well and doesn’t suffer from narrow viewing angles.
For gamers, the Samsung S84D packs a ton of must-have features like 4k@120 Hz with support for both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync. The TV also enjoys super short response time and input lag. Finally, console gamers should also be pretty happy with the Samsung S84D, as it fully supports both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S | X.
However, it is not all sunshine and roses with the Samsung S84, as it does only a decent job of displaying HDR content due to the limited HDR brightness (643 nits of Peak 2% Window Brightness). The HDR brightness also takes a noticeable hit in Game Mode. So, if you are someone who wants a brighter HDR experience, the LG B4 OLED is a good TV to look at.
All in all, if you are in the market for a large mid-range 4K TV, the Samsung S84D OLED TV on sale is a pretty good option to consider.
