550W motor, IPX5 and dual front suspension: AOTOS introduces M1 e-scooter for just $299.99

The manufacturer uses a 10Ah battery running at 36V. This is supposed to give the M1 a range of 28 miles, which is equivalent to around 45 km. The remaining range is shown on the classic, narrow LED display on the handlebars.
Outside Europe, the 550W motor can accelerate the Aotos M1 to up to 32 kilometers per hour. In Germany, the model will likely be speed-limited again if it receives the necessary approval. The e-scooter can handle bridges, hills and other inclines with gradients of up to 15 percent.

The e-scooter connects to its companion app via Bluetooth. From there, users can lock and unlock the vehicle, check the current battery level and estimated remaining range, select the riding mode, view the total distance traveled and more.
As with other models, the handlebar stem can be folded down, making the M1 easy to take on a train or transport in a car. The tires measure 8.5 inches and are made of solid rubber. The scooter can handle splashing water without much trouble, as reflected by its IPX5 certification. The braking system consists of a front drum brake and a rear electronic brake.
Aotos has been around since 2016 (or 2020—the pages we accessed contradict each other on this point) and is focused on e-mobility. However, the company does not appear to have many products available so far. On the official website, we see the M1, along with an e-bike styled like a motorcycle, a rideable suitcase and various accessories. Aotos products are also sold through Amazon, Best Buy and Costco, among others.
