Segway unveiled two new electric scooter models on October 7: the off-road-capable Segway E-Kickscooter ZT3 MAX and the long-range Segway E-Kickscooter Ninebot MAX G3 Pro. At the same time, the manufacturer is aiming for greater transparency and has tightened its “range at top speed” testing mode.

We know the issue from manufacturers of electric vehicles—it affects e-bikes, electric scooters, and even electric cars: Range figures are often purely theoretical and represent maximum distances that can only be achieved under conditions that have little to do with real-world use. The fact that an electric motorcycle can travel 43.5 miles, but only when ridden at a maximum of 19 mph in Eco mode, exclusively on straight roads with no traffic lights and in completely calm conditions, offers little practical relevance to the user.

That is why Segway has once again tightened its test conditions for its flagship models for 2026. The manufacturer has offered a “range at top speed” figure since 2024, and this has now been adjusted as follows: “Each riding mode is tested at top speed until the electric scooter can no longer maintain at least 60 percent of its top speed.”

To go along with this, Segway is introducing two new electric kick scooter models designed for two different use cases: The Segway E-Kickscooter ZT3 MAX is primarily suited to challenging urban terrain such as cobblestones, inclines, and uneven roads. The MAX G3 Pro, by contrast, is optimized specifically for long daily commutes. Here are the two models in detail:

ZT3 Max

Its new 2,200 W motor delivers 38% more power than its predecessor, allowing it to tackle inclines of up to 30 percent. Its range at 12 mph is 44.7 miles. It features two-stage hydraulic suspension both at the front and rear. Two 140 mm disc brakes work together with an intelligent braking system (ICBS) and E-ABS. The wheels measure 12 inches at the front and 11 inches at the rear to better handle obstacles.
