Dying Light, the award-winning open-world zombie survival/action game, can now be yours to keep for just $3.99. The massive 80% price drop gives players the perfect opportunity to enjoy one of gaming's most iconic zombie survival titles.

When the original Dying Light was released back in 2015, IGN touted the title as “one of the most engrossing open-world games” with an open world that is full of “memorable side quests and sheer fun”. 10 years on, Dying Light still stands among the best zombie action/survival games ever made. You can now play it for just $3.99.

To prepare players for the August 22nd release of Dying Light: The Beast, Techland, the developer and publisher of the Dying Light franchise, is now offering Dying Light Standard Edition for only $3.99. This is an 80% discount, just $1 shy of the lowest price ever.

Dying Light throws players into the vast open world city of Harran, where gamers assume the role of undercover agent Kyle Crane, who is tasked with a secret mission. While the plot of the game is nothing out of the ordinary, the fun side quests, gameplay, and the setting elevate Dying Light above your run-of-the-mill zombie shooter.

Dying Light’s gameplay revolves around using parkour to steer clear of zombies and traverse the vertical and dense cityscape. Even a decade after release, Dying Light’s open world still looks pretty good and is a super fun playzone to mash zombies, especially when factoring in the freedom the parkour movement and the combat system allow.

The skill-based combat mainly revolves around dodging enemy attacks, hand-to-hand fights with melee weapons, and occasional shooting. Since Dying Light incorporates elements of survival games, players will also need to scavenge for resources to craft gear and upskill their character.

While Dying Light is primarily a single-player game, you can team up with up to four players to clear quests, both main and side, as well as play a PvP “Be the Zombie” multiplayer mode. The main storyline takes around 20 hours to complete. Add in side quests, the exploration, and co-op/MP, and you will be playing the game for more than 50 hours.

Dying Light system requirements

Dying Light’s recommended system requirements include:

  • An Intel Core i5-4670K or AMD FX8350 CPU
  • An Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 or an AMD Radeon R9 290 GPU
  • 8 GB of RAM
  • 40 GB of hard drive space

In other words, any modern entry-level gaming PC, including ones with the lowest-end internals like will be perfectly capable of running Dying Light at the highest settings.
