Update | Xreal Aura debuts at the Google Android Developer Summit with over 150 Made-for-XR experiences and GameSir controller

October 28, 2026 7:45 PM UTC update: Additional Aura details from the Summit added.
Xreal has officially debuted the Aura glasses at the Google Android Developer Summit. The Aura supports virtual experiences from a library of over 150, with more coming soon. A dedicated controller and keyboard were also announced.
The XR glasses deliver 1,920 x 1,200 images to each eye using Sony Micro-OLED displays with a 70-degree field of view, a peak brightness of 1,200 nits, and refresh rates up to 120 Hz.
The 95 g (3.35 oz.) Xreal Aura is powered by the Snapdragon Reality Elite platform, which has a 6-core Kryo CPU with two performance cores and an NPU delivering up to 48 TOPS of AI performance. The SoC, RAM, storage, 4,455 mAh battery, and cooling fan are fitted into a tethered Computing Puck that weighs 265 grams (9.34 oz.). Although the Aura comes with GPS navigation and Wi-Fi 6E and BT 5.3 wireless connectivity, it does not have cellular-based connectivity or navigation.
The Snapdragon platform enables the Xreal Aura to run Android apps from the Google Play Store in a virtual computing environment alongside Made-for-XR apps as well as desktop computer apps streaming into the XR glasses as a virtual monitor. Apps and games are controlled using the touchpad on the Computing Puck, hand gestures, or voice control using Gemini AI. The Aura speakers have Sound by Bose EQ tuning and support spatial audio reproduction, with four microphones for Gemini voice interactions and a camera for online meetings and in-game chats.

Over 150 Made-for-XR apps are available with the Aura launch. Experiences include the NBA and NASCAR XR apps with live event feeds, Chess Club and Fallout: Factions games, and Simply Piano XR for learning to play music. Additional enterprise apps are also available, including Plynk Spatial for stock research and trading, and XR HoloMedicine for viewing medical images.
App windows can be anchored to specific locations in reality thanks to 6DoF head tracking that uses two tracking cameras, while the external world can be blocked out thanks to electrochromic dimming.

The lower-end Android XR model with 12 GB of memory and 256 GB of storage has a limited-time price of $1,099 (normally $1,279) and the higher-end model with 16 GB of memory and 512 GB of storage is available at $1,299 (normally $1,499), with both offers good through December 2026. Shipping begins in mid-November 2026.
The controller was made in collaboration with GameSir, a popular third-party controller manufacturer, and comes with a dedicated Google Gemini key to bring up the AI chatbot during virtual gameplay. The wireless keyboard is designed for portability and easy navigation of multi-window workflows, according to the company.
The Xreal Aura is now available for purchase in the United States, Canada, Japan, and South Korea markets, with availability in other markets starting in 2027. The glasses were initially unveiled as Project Aura in 2025, with additional details recently disclosed.
