Zepp Health, the company behind the Amazfit smartwatch brand, has announced its fourth quarter and full year 2024 financial results. The company notes the successful launch of the T-Rex 3 in September, though it admits that sales were hampered by supply issues.
The press release mentions “strong momentum” behind the recently released Amazfit Active 2 entry-level smartwatch. Plus, it notes that Amazfit has recently recruited Olympic medal-winning sprinter Gabby Thomas and professional tennis player Jasmine Polini to its team of Athlete Ambassadors.
In the announcement, Zepp Health also reveals several details of its plans for 2025 and beyond. The company notes its close connection with HYROX, an indoor fitness competition, with many Amazfit smartwatches like the Balance (curr. $149.99 at Amazon) offering a HYROX Race Mode. According to this release, more HYROX-related products and features are on the way. Unfortunately, no further details are known at this stage.
The company also hinted at possible AI advancements, pointing to the OpenAI 4.5 integration. OpenAI is currently used for the Food Log tool in the Zepp App, which was recently made available to more users across Europe and North America. Zepp Health also indicates that it is considering using DeepSeek AI to reduce the associated running costs. Finally, the statement mentions the upcoming Amazfit Bip 6 smartwatch, which could be launched by the end of March 2025.
