Xiaomi enlists 27 Mi and Redmi devices eligible for MIUI 12.5 closed beta: Redmi Note 7 included but Redmi Note 8 Pro, Note 8T, and Note 9S fail to make the cut ↺
Last month, Xiaomi revealed the MIUI 12.5 update and opened registration for the MIUI 12.5 beta update in China for a total of 21 eligible devices. Now, the company has taken to its official Weibo account to confirm that 27 phones across the Mi and Redmi lineups will be getting access to the closed beta update soon.
Xiaomi's list ranges from the upcoming Mi 11 all the way back to the Redmi Note 7 that was released in February 2019. The list of phones eligible for MIUI 12.5 include:

We are hearing reports that the Mi 9T has already received the MIUI 12.5 beta, so that makes it a total of 28 devices. Interestingly, the list does not include the Redmi Note 8T, Redmi Note 8 Pro, and the Redmi Note 9S. However, it is possible that we may see more devices being eventually included once the first round of beta testing completes.
Global rollout of MIUI 12.5 beta should commence shortly following the Chinese ROM rollout. It may be noted that Xiaomi is still seeding MIUI 12 to eligible devices.
Though an intermediary update, MIUI 12.5 is slated to bring several new features, designs, and performance improvements including more responsive gestures, new Super wallpapers, new notification sounds, sandboxed file storage, Fuzzy Position, controlling phone from the PC via MIUI+, and more.
