It is already well established that Xiaomi is preparing to offer the Redmi Note 15 series globally following the introduction of the Redmi Note 15, Redmi Note 15 Pro and Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus last month in China. Now, it seems that Xiaomi is working towards releasing both of its new high-end Android tablets outside its home market, too.
Announced yesterday in China, the Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro serve as direct replacements for the Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro (curr. $599 on Amazon), which Xiaomi unveiled globally about six months ago. Now, the Pad 8 pair have turned up on the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) in Singapore with the model numbers 25097RP43G and 25091RP04G. Likewise, the former has also appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards' database, but under the model number 25097RP43I.
Although neither regulatory body reveals these tablets' retail names, pre-launch leaks confirmed that '25097RP43' is the underlying model number for the Pad 8. Meanwhile, 25091RP04 relates to the Pad 8 Pro, with C, G or I suffixes added to denote Chinese, global or Indian variants, respectively.
For the time being, Xiaomi has not publicly commented on global availability for either of its Pad 8 series tablets. If the Pad 7 series is anything to go by, then Xiaomi will leave fans waiting until MWC 2026 in March 2026. In the meantime, importers have already started offering the Pad 8 Pro globally, full details of which we have covered separately.
