World of Warships: Legends now available on Android and iOS
After a long testing period, World of Warships launched on Windows in September 2015. World of Warships Blitz was the next in line, reaching iOS and Android three years later. Console gamers got World of Warships: Legends in two waves, since PlayStation 4 and Xbox One got it in 2019 and PlayStation 5 alongside the Xbox Series X|S received their versions in 2021. Soft launched in May 2023, WoWS: Legends got a global launch on Google Play and the Apple App Store yesterday.
Described by the official news release as "essentially the same game on both platforms" when comparing the Android/iOS release with the well-established console versions, the mobile version of WoWS: Legends features a slightly different field of view and controls, as required to run properly on smartphones and tablets while using a touchscreen instead of a game controller. The mobile version features everything currently present on consoles, except aircraft carriers, training rooms, and fleets. However, all these missing parts will be added soon.
According to Wargaming, while future features might differ from time to time, the plan is to release the same content for consoles and mobile devices wherever possible. Unsurprisingly, one of the game's most attractive highlights is the ability to play against (or alongside, depending on the battle mode) with console players and to keep the experience gained on mobile when moving to the console version (as long as the player is connecting using the same account, of course).
With this global launch, WoWS: Legends welcomes a new five-week, 100-milestone campaign, four Japanese light cruisers in Early Access, the new "Sveriges Sällhet" campaign, as well as the Planet Clash cosmic event that features a unique PvE mode with a trio of themed ships with dedicated commanders and unique abilities such as "Orbital Strike" and "Electromagnetic Pulse."
The iOS version requires version 14 or later of the mobile operating system, so any device that runs at least iOS 14.0 should be fine, although it is recommended to use at least the iPhone 11/11 Pro. Android users need Vulkan 1.2 or later, at least the Adreno 640 GPU, 4 GB of memory, and version 9.0 of the operating system.
PlayStation 4 gamers who didn't get the game yet can enjoy a 38% discount on Amazon for World of Warships: Legends Firepower Deluxe Edition, which is now down to $24.70.
