Wargaming's World of Warships is moving forward with a new update that includes the usual under-the-hood tweaks and fixes, as well as early access to British subs, the Statue of Liberty commander, US hybrid battleships, global combat missions, an updated Domination mode, rebalanced unique upgrades, and more.

Although it will turn 8 in September, World of Warships is a free-to-play multiplayer online game that still has a lot to offer. Wargaming has just released update 12.1 for this title's adepts. This refresh comes with new ships, game modes, multiple improvements and tweaks. Some of these changes are available right away, others need to be activated on Wargaming's servers and will go live in the coming days.

The most obvious changes that come with World of Warships 12.1 are the following:

  • Early access to British submarines, which come with a high dive capacity but small HP pools.
  • Statue of Liberty commander and US hybrid battleships, namely Nebraska, Delaware, and Louisiana.
  • Global combat missions.
  • The Queen of the Seas special themed adventure, to go live in 3 weeks.
  • Clan Battles Season 20, called Salamander, which will take place in a 7 vs. 7 format and will involve exclusively Tier X ships, without carriers and subs.
  • An updated Domination mode, which now comes with three Key Areas and can be accessed via Random Battles.
  • Various new ships, commanders, and patches.

In addition to the above, submarines now have interactive music that changes depending on several factors, such as location of the vessel, combat situations, actions performed, and so on.

Developers, supertesters, and community contributors are now able to test three upcoming ships, namely Almirante Grau, Tashkent '41, and Cumberland.

Alongside the Windows version of the game, World of Warships is also available for iOS and Android (as World of Warships Blitz), as well as Playstation 4/5 and Xbox One/Series X|S consoles (as World of Warships: Legends).
