ViewSonic asserts that its upcoming monitors address the needs of those who work at home. The OEM's new 24- and 27-inch models have inbuilt webcams and the ergonomic stands to keep them at comfortable eye levels. There is also a 34-inch ultra-wide flagship with a USB type-C docking station for charging and connectivity.

Many professionals who now use their home offices full-time may have figured out that the average monitor does not completely meet their needs during the working day. The US display OEM ViewSonic has announced a new range that might better suit this use-case. It includes webcam-enabled models, as well as those that combine a 21:9 aspect-ratio with other business-ready features and a new, ultra-light portable unit.

The VG2440V and VG2740V have FHD resolutions, and also in-built webcams of the same resolution. They are located along the top edge of the 24- and 27-inch SKUs, and are rated for 5° vertical adjustments, so as to augment the monitors' ability to  pan, tilt and swivel through 40°. The displays also have integrated speakers and mics for an all-in-one experience.

This allows the user the freedom to move around somewhat during virtual meetings or presentations. Those who would prefer to remain sitting or standing in front of a screen might prefer ViewSonic's VG3456 WQHD ultra-wide option. It has an inbuilt dock with the USB type-C, Ethernet, audio and video ports that might accomodate the other peripherals found on a remote-working desk.

ViewSonic has also prepared a new portable monitor. The VA1655 has its own stand that allows it to stay in portrait or landscape mode. It has a case made of plastic (as opposed to its metallic predecessor); however, this renders it very lightweight, at just 710 grams (g). Therefore, the OEM asserts it is the ideal display to carry around should a user be on the go, or simply wanting to move around their own space more freely.

ViewSonic currently aims to have the VG3456, VG2440V and VG2740V on the market during the second quarter of 2021, whereas the VA1655 will be released in the next quarter after that.
